Wedding picnic on the lawn with a Provencal theme

This menu was designed for Avi Bryant and Emma Davis, who happen to be two dear friends of mine. They were fans of Lili's Bistro and selected my catering company for their special day. They had a very detailed vision for their wedding, which included picnic baskets for all the guest, a lamb roasted on a spit, tandem bicycles, and a Provençal theme. It is one of the most interesting events I ever had to cater. The theme and delivery were unique, the menu was fairly elaborate (and several of the guests had dietary allergies, restrictions, and preferences... which made the assembly of the baskets rather interesting!)

PICNIC BASKETS CONTAINING:

BREADS

-Foccaccia bread with roasted garlic and rosemary

-Organic baguette

-Cornbread with fresh corn and scallions (wheat-free) -

Spelt boule

SPREADS

-Apple-thyme butter

-Ratatouille -Local goat cheese

-Local spiced cheese -Garlic shoot-nasturtium butter

-Fresh champagne grapes

BUFFET:

-Asparagus in orange dressing

-Tomato, kalamata, bocconcini and oregano salad

-Organic mixed geens, walnuts, pears and feta in lemon dressing

-French-style potato salad woth green beans and Dijon mustard vinaigrette

MAINS:

-Roast lamb on the spit

-BBQ salmon

-Vegetarian puff pastry tart

-Fried, Southern-style chicken

DESSERTS:

Latticed cherry, blackberry, peach and apple pies

Dried fruit and nut pies in shortbread crust,

Raw vegan cacao truffle torte with assorted coulis and whipping cream
