Elaborate all-day menu for a stylish wedding in the orchard at the Pink Geranium

This menu was designed for Heather Berard and Evan Mounsey, who happens to be related to the Mounseys, previous owners of the Pink Geranium, a veritable culinary legend on Galiano! The happy couple's vision really meshed with my cooking style, and much fun was had by all! The most stunning wedding I have had the joy of being a part of. Every detail had been looked after, from the multitude of candelabras,  the pears and apples in the orchard covered in gold leaf, the photographer who made use of a Polaroid camera and gilded frames hanging from tree branches all over the orchard, the sound system fashioned from an old phonograph horn hooked to an iPod, the salsa instructor, the red velvet gilded furniture and Persian carpets, to the huge gazebo with a hanging chandelier that the couple's friends had erected in a weekend. This wedding had it all!!

Pre-Reception Appetizers & Bar Service

  • Two handheld appetizers: mini bagels with local smoked salmon (vegetarian version had smoked eggplant or tomato strips), herbed fromage frais and pickled onions / mini cheese and chive scones with chipotle mayo, baby tomatoes, fresh basil and double-smoked maple bacon (hold bacon for vegetarian version)
  • Cheese & cracker plate 
  • Beer/Wine/Simple Cocktails

 

Reception Buffet Style Dinner & Dessert & Bar Service

 

  • Two salads (one leafy : mixed local greens with edible flowers, arugula, pears and candied pecans with raspberry & rose vinaigrette/one cut up veggie like Greek salad- grilled tomato, eggplant, shallots and zucchini with oregano-rosemary & fir honey balsamic vinaigrette)
  • Fragrant basmati rice
  • BQQ Lamb
  • Grilled Salmon
  • Cheese & cracker plate (from appetizers)
  • Fruit plate
  • Kaffir lime cheesecake with fresh berry coulis
  • Wedding Cake (Red Velvet with a White Chocolate Buttercream)
